Clorene Henderson Obituary

Clorene Henderson, 80, went to be with Jesus on the morning of Feb. 12, 2016 in Kerrville. She was born on Oct. 09, 1935 in Paducah, TX to James and Jewel Whatley. Clorene married the love of her life Charles Henderson on April 07, 1956 in Fort Worth and they were blessed with 59 wonderful years of marriage and great memories. They lived in Abernathy for over 35 years, where Clorene was a teacher's aide for the middle school. She also taught special education, helped others get their GED and US citizenship. Clorene started the first local Abernathy Senior Citizen group. She organized meets and activates for the group. Clorene and Charles moved to Kerrville in 1997. She was a member of Sunrise Baptist Church. She was an avid artist, poet and seamstress. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Loretta, Virgie Bell and Preston; son, Doug Henderson. Clorene is survived by her husband, Charles Henderson; children, Jim Henderson, Kelly Livingston and husband Robert, Wade Henderson and wife Marcy; 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; brothers, Clendon Whatley and Dalton Whatley. She will be loved and missed by many other family members and friends.
