Ivan Fred Kusch

Ivan Kusch, 91, went to be with the Lord on August 24, 2017 in Kerrville. Ivan Fred Kusch was born on October 30, 1925 in Lovington IL to Fred H. and Lenore P. Kusch. He attended University of Illinois and graduated, Class of 1950. Ivan resided in Lovington and Sheldon, IL, Venezuela, 1950-1960, Western Springs, IL and finally retired to the Hill Country. Ivan joined the U.S. Army Air Corps (1943 -1945) and served as a Flight Engineer. Over the years, Ivan worked for Creole Petroleum Corporation, Lake Maracaibo, Venezuela (purchased by Standard Oil of New Jersey); Grey Hound, Chicago, IL; Household Finance Corporation, Chicago, IL; Allied Van Lines, Oakbrook Terrace, IL and the owner of Sands Motel, Kerrville, TX. In his past time Ivan enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting, fishing, winemaking and crossword puzzles. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Elizabeth Agnes Bedford Kusch (d. 1987). Ivan is survived by his wife, Jean Gladwin Kusch; his sister, Jo Ellen Kusch of San Antonio; his son, Carl Kusch and wife Vickie of San Antonio; his daughter, Clare Kusch Simmonds and husband Dan of Hudson, Ohio; 5 Grandchildren and 13 Great Grandchildren. .In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution can be made to the American Red Cross for hurricane relief.
