Jack Milburn was born in Vega, Texas, on Nov. 13, 1930, and passed away Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2017, in Kerrville, after a courageous battle with cancer. He served in the United States Army from 1951-53. Jack is survived by his wife, Marilyn Milburn of Ingram; daughter, Jenny Oliver of Olton, Texas; son, Billy Milburn of Amarillo, Texas; sister, Lea Collins of Denver, Colorado; three brothers, Louis Allred of Hunt, Milburn Allred of Johnstown, Colorado, and Winfield Allred of Silver Springs, Maryland; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Jack moved to the Hill Country in 1990 from Wichita, Kansas, to care for his mother, Edilee Allred. He delivered Meals on Wheels for more than 25 years. He was a lay chaplain at Peterson Regional Medical Center with Jim Brown and was a member of Sunrise Baptist Church, going on several mission trips to Mexico through Trinity Baptist Church. He will be truly missed by his many friends. His family wishes to express sincere gratitude for the excellent care Jack received at Hilltop Village this past year, as well as that of New Century Hospice.
