Mary Yago Obituary

On July 26, Mary C. Yago, 65, lost her 20 month battle with cancer. She was a loving and caring mother, who also brought an exceptional light and smile to whomever she met. She was a fighter and fought hard, with bravery and joy until the very end. A hardworking and dedicated woman, she gave 27 years of exceptional service to the Pharmacy Department at Peterson Regional Medical Center, as well as working for Wal-Mart her in Kerrville for 18 years. As if that was not enough, she also a dedicated President's Club Avon Lady for close to 20 years. Widely known as, "the lady with the flower in her hair", she never knew a stranger and would always brighten your day. Not only did she love people with a kind and caring heart, she never met an animal, especially dogs, she did not like. Her love for them was beyond this world, which is why she is joined in her peaceful afterlife by her five "kids", who have been her companions and family for over 18 years. Her fur babies, Nikki, Bandit, Isis, Miley and Snowflake, joined her peacefully on July 27, 2016. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, John and Jeanetta Adamietz and her loving sister, Barbara Adamietz. She is survived by her one and only son, Chad Michael Yago and her four remaining siblings, Jerry Adamietz and wife Anise, Johnny Adamietz and wife Eva, Debbie Pankratz and Michael Adamietz. She is also survived by Ashley Pankratz- Rust, her loving niece. Too numerous to list are her many friends and loved ones she met through her years of work, selling Avon and life in Kerrville. She is also survived by her "extended" family in Matthew and Sheona York and the five amazing kids, Mykia, Chancis, Brayleigh, Mattison and Lorne. A memorial service to be held in her honor will take place, 10:30 am, Saturday, August 13. The service will be held at The Pavilion in the Ingram City Park (behind Wells Fargo bank). If you are planning to attend, please honor Mary by including the color red in your attire. A small reception will follow the service. Flowers are welcomed, as Mary loved them, but her wishes were that donations be made in her honor to the ASPCA or Kerrville Area Humane Society.
