Carroll Boyd Moore

Carroll Boyd Moore of Fredericksburg passed away on April 22, 2017 at the age of 82 years. Boyd was born Aug. 08, 1934 in Merkel, son of Ira and Etna Cox Moore. Boyd graduated from Merkel High School in 1952. He married his high school sweetheart, Billie Rutledge on June 26, 1953 in Abilene. Boyd served at home in the Navy during the Korean War. He then worked for the telephone company for 34 years, retiring from GTE in 1988. Boyd was a member of the Church of Christ all his life, serving as a deacon for over 25 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ira Moore and Etna Cox Moore; three sisters and one brother and many uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews. Boyd is survived by his wife of 64 years, Billie Rutledge Moore of Fredericksburg; son, Daniel Moore of Brownwood; daughters and spouses, Diane and Barry Klein of Fredericksburg, Delisa and Matt Gardner of Marion; grandchildren, Sarah and Randall Janc, Landon Moore, Ben and Bethany Klein, Bryce and Laura Jo Klein and Jessica Stacy; great grandchildren, Layne, Kyndra, Sofia, August, James and Grace and many close friends.
