Esther Diedrich Conley passed away peacefully on Sunday evening May 19th. She celebrated her 100th birthday 3 weeks before her passing. Born in Jerome, ID on April 28, 1919, she moved to Marshfield, Oregon (now Coos Bay) when she was 5 years old. At 13, in 1932, she left home for a babysitting job at a hotel in Port Orford, Oregon. While continuing to work for the hotel, she put herself through school and graduated in 1937. She married Ed Conley in 1938 and was happily married until Ed's passing in 1983. She excelled in her hobbies of gardening, painting, bridge, and golf. She was club champion at her golf course for several years. She was predeceased by her four sisters, Louise, Alice, Ida, and Elizabeth. She has two surviving brothers, Fred Diedrich age 95 of Seattle, WA, Dick Diedrich age 92 of Silverton, OR; son David and his wife Connie of Kerrville; two grandchildren and two great granddaughters. She moved to Kerrville in 2015 for health reasons and to be closer to her son. She resided at River Point Assisted living in Kerrville.
