Raymond "Ray" G. Oberg, 82, went home to his Heavenly Father on October 30, 2019. He passed away in the loving arms of his wife of 34 years, Marilyn, in his home in Kerrville, TX. Ray was born January 4, 1937 in Worcester, Mass. to Gunnar and Edith Oberg. The family moved to California, Germany and then back to California while Gunnar was in the military. Ray enlisted in the Air Force at 17 and was Honorably discharged after 4 years. He became a Mailman, owned a Janitorial Service and began his career in law enforcement with the Maricopa County Reserves, AZ. He was a Deputy with Pinal County, AZ and then became an Officer with Apache Junction Police Department in AZ. After retiring in 2001, Ray and Marilyn spent time in New Mexico where Ray was a part of the local Volunteer Fire Department before moving to Kerrville, TX in 2016. Ray was baptized into Christ on 4/26/17. Ray enjoyed being active with his church family and his many friends. He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Marilyn; his son, Eric (Shelli) of Cedar Park, TX; his daughter, Karen of Tucson, AZ; his sister Barbara (Roger) Barrientos of Mesa, AZ; Marilyn's sons Carl (Tame) Farrar of Casa Grande, AZ and Chuck "Joe" (Andee) Farrar of Bryan, TX along with seven grandchildren and multiple great-grandchildren.
