Alejandro De La Rosa, 103, of Kerrville, Texas, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones.
He was born on September 6, 1921, in Rocksprings, Texas, to Juanita (Fernandez) and Jose De La Rosa. Alejandro grew up in Rocksprings and, after graduating high school, proudly served his country in the Army Air Forces for three years during World War II.
Following his military service, Alejandro met and married the love of his life, Maria De La Rosa. The couple moved to Kerrville, where they raised four children and built a life rooted in faith, family, and service.
A man of unwavering devotion, Alejandro served as a preacher for 40 years, sharing the gospel and his deep belief in the power of baptism. He was a longtime member of the Spanish Church of Christ in Kerrville, where he touched countless lives through his sermons, guidance, and example.
Alejandro was known as a pillar of strength, wisdom, and integrity in his family. He never drank, never smoked, and his family lovingly recalls that they never once heard him utter a curse word. He led by example—quietly, humbly, and faithfully. To his children and grandchildren, he was not only an amazing father and grandfather, but the very heart of the family.
He is survived by his children: Gerardo De La Rosa, Elizabeth Duran, and Marina D. Villa; 10 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and numerous other family members and friends who were blessed to know and love him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved son Sammy De La Rosa, and his sisters Rosa De La Rosa and Maria Jiminez.
Though the family mourns his loss deeply, they celebrate the extraordinary 103 years he graced this earth—years marked by service, love, and a steadfast walk with God.
