Andre Elizabeth LeBlanc, born November 21, 1951, peacefully and graciously left us after a brave battle with breast cancer on Tuesday, August 18, 2020 in Kerrville, TX. Her sisters Lynette and Jarleth, along with her niece Elizabeth were lovingly by her side.
Andre was a very creative and fun-loving person. She was an ardent fan of folk music and worked many years at the Kerrville Folk Festival in Kerrville Texas where she developed a large family of friends who loved her. She was a lifetime ticket holder for the festival, the ultimate fan, and one of her greatest joys was traveling to see her favorite folk music at various venues.
Andre graduated high school from St. Agnes Academy in Houston Texas. She went on to earn a Bachelor Degree in Textile Arts from the University of Texas in Austin. Shortly after graduation, she moved to Kerrville to pursue her interest in music.
She was also an accomplished designer and seamstress and as a self-employed person under “Designs by Andre” she created and installed high-end custom upholstery and window treatments for many homes in the Kerrville, Comfort and Boerne areas.
Andrea, liked to be called “Andre” and was the oldest of five sisters and one brother. Three sisters shared her birthday: Andrea LeBlanc 11/21/1951, Lynette LeBlanc Simpson 11/21/53; Diedre LeBlanc 11/21/55; and Jarleth English 11/21/58.
Andre was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Donia LeBlanc, her sister, Diedre Marie LeBlanc Fernandez and her brother, Charles Moise LeBlanc, Jr. She is survived by sisters: Lynette LeBlanc Simpson, Jarleth LeBlanc English and Donna LeBlanc DePinto. She is also survived by nieces Elizabeth English Hale and Lauren Kay Paul, and great niece Vivian Jean Hale and great nephew Alec James Hale.
A memorial service is being planned by Andre’s loving Folk Festival Friends. For details reach out to the Kerrville Folk Festival.
