Austin Jules Jourde, 91, of Bandera, passed peacefully at home on May 20, 2026.
He was born on August 8,1934 in Houston, Texas to Austin J. Jourde, Sr. and Louise Williams Jourde. He graduated from Lamar High School in 1952 and Texas A & M University, class of ’56. He married JoAnne Parks July 17, 1955. After service in the U.S. Army at Ft. Carson Colorado, he returned to Texas and began a lifelong career in agricultural contracting and ranching. It was his great pleasure to have managed the Mason Fork Ranch for the Fontaine Family for 20+ years, until his retirement. He was a Christian, father, friend, and cowboy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, John Jourde, and daughter, Jolie Jourde.
He is survived by his daughter, Leslie Jourde Williams and her husband, Ken of Lubbock; his son, Austin R. Jourde and his wife Maia of Fort Worth; granddaughters, Kimberly Davis and her husband Austin of Houston and Kallie Williams of Lubbock; grandsons, Devin Jourde of Neptune Beach, Florida, and Dillon Jourde of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania; and great-grandchildren, Caroline and Carter.
Jules also leaves his sister, Marjorie Jourde Dodson of Houston; many nieces and nephews; and countless friends in Bandera county, the state of Texas and across the United States.
