Heaven gained another angel today, August 16, 2024. Barbara Ann Kirby Keller, passed away at Waterside Nursing and Rehabilitation in Kerrville, Texas.
She born in Orange, NJ and raised in Bloomfield, NJ. Ms. Keller lived in many different places and spent time in Belle Mead, New Jersey, New Wilmington, PA and Kerrville, TX. She loved her family dearly and was loved by so many as well.
Barb loved to paint and draw, she was so selfless, loving, funny, stubborn, determined, and resourceful. She graduated from high school and went to secretarial school. Then she held numerous executive assistant positions. She was delighted to be an integral part of her brother in-law, Dr. Eugene Sharkey’s book “When Titans Truly Were”. She and her sister Connie opened the Creek side Barn where they made and sold candles, artwork and local artisan wares. Upon her arrival in Kerrville, she worked at Bonworth.
She was preceded in death by parents, Thomas Wilmont and Helen Ann Jorgensen Kirby; sister, Constance Elizabeth Kirby Sharkey; nephew, Kenny Fredericks; and her sweet basset hound, Daisy Mae.
She is survived by her sister, Marian Kirby Fredericks and brother-in-law, Roy Fredericks of Somerset, KY; daughter, Marilyn Beth Mitchell of Dallas, Texas; and son, David Keller and his wife Vicky, of Ransom Canyon, Texas; her grandchildren, Amy Pratt Latawiec and her husband, Tristan, Jon Pratt of Dallas, Texas, Brad Mitchell and his wife Laurah, Ethan Mitchell and his wife Kait of Keller, TX, Rebecca Stiles and her husband, Curtis of Cypress, TX, Cand Emily Keller Ahrens and her husband Adam of Sanger, TX. She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Christopher, Hailey, Mikayla, Noah, and Poppie; and niece, Karen Crockett Lewis that held a special place in her heart as well as her numerous nieces and nephews.
Her family is saddened by their loss, however, all know that is she in a much better place, pain-free, and enjoying chats with her friends and family in The Room.
