Betty Chipman Obituary

Betty Jo Chipman, 71, passed away on March 16, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas. She was born on December 4, 1953, in Kerrville to Stanley “Red” Ginter and Marjorie Love Ginter. A lifelong resident of Kerrville, Betty built a career in hospitality management, dedicating herself to serving the Hill Country community with warmth and care.

Betty was first married to John Clement, with whom she shared the joy of raising two daughters, Michelle and Rhonda. Later, on December 1, 1983, she married Raymond Roger Chipman in Kerrville, and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Their years together were marked by a deep companionship and a shared appreciation for the simple joys of life.

She found her greatest happiness near the water, fishing at the lake with her husband and family.  A frequent visitor to the local bingo hall, Betty loved the excitement and thrill of a good game. Music was another passion of hers—she especially enjoyed listening to vinyl records and singing along to Willie Nelson’s songs. Dancing brought her happiness, as did sharing these moments with those around her.

Betty was preceded by her father, Stanley “Red” Ginter; grandmother, Nellie Davis; and sister, Sherri Botello; grandchild, Cassandra Worden.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her beloved husband, Raymond; daughters, Michelle Clement of Colorado and Rhonda Meyer (husband, Michael) of Kerrville; grandchildren, Bryan Smith, Kayla Merritt, Krystal Worden, Mandy Rainwater, John Christopher Bellard, Karolyn Bellard, Courtney Bellard and Korey Ng; great grandchildren, Noah Smith, Jace Richter, Kyle Smith, Rachel Holliday, Cassandra Holliday, Greyson Merritt, Izabella Ruelas-Bellard and Cooper Smith; sisters, Patricia Ginter and Jennie Weber; brother, James Smith; along with numerous aunts and cousins.

Betty’s memory will be cherished by those who knew her.
