Calvin Tatsumi Hayashikawa, 74, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2023 at his home in Ingram surrounded by his family.
He was born on Sept. 30, 1948, in Hilo, Hawaii to Tatsuko (Tsubota) and Masao Tatsumi Hayashikawa. Calvin served in the US Army during the Vietnam War, there he learned mechanic and repairman skills. He later went on to use those skills in his own business, Cycle Tech, a small engine repair center for many years.
Calvin married Deanna Ward on October 22, 1993, in Oahu, Hawaii. They adopted two children, Jessi and Jacob, both children were the light of their parents’ life. They moved to Ingram in 2006.
When Calvin was not at work, he was spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed taking them out on his pontoon boat and going fishing. He would race motorcycles in Hawaii. Calvin was loved by so many and will be remembered as the life of the party.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Deanna (12/12/2016).
Calvin is survived by his children; daughter, Jessi (TJ Wheatcraft) and son, Jacob; brother, Cy Hayashikawa; grandchildren, Jason Root, Adalyn and Daylyn Robertson, and Blain Wheatcraft; mother-in-law, Sandy Boettcher; brother-in-law, Brian Ward; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The family has requested to please wear Hawaiian / Luau theme attire to the celebration of life.
