Charles E. Haile

On the evening of Sept. 16, 2021, Charlie Edwin Haile, 87, passed away from this life at his home in Comfort. He was born Jan. 19, 1934, in Tulia to the late Edwin and Ora Haile.

Charles graduated from Tulia High School, where he was the captain of the football team. He went on to honorable serve in the US Navy from 1952-1956. During that time, he married Deona Faye Mabry in 1952.  Charles worked as an accountant and retired from the Santa Fe Railroad Company. After retirement in 1992, Deona and Charles moved to Comfort. Charles built their forever him. In his spare time, he enjoyed working in his workshop building things. 

Charles instilled in his three sons to work hard, be kind and be giving. He would help everyone with no questioned asked. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Deona; parents, Edwin, and Ora; 1 sister and 1 brother.

Charles is survived by his sons, Jimmy Haile, and Sam Haile; 4 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He will be loved and missed by many other family members and friends.

The family will hold a private service at a later date.
