Cherrie Dell (Knowles) Taylor, 60, of Kerrville, passed from this life into the next on May 8, 2025, after a hard battle with cancer. Cherrie was born December 6, 1964 in Nashville, TN, to Joe and Evelyn Knowles. She grew up in San Saba, Texas as an adult. Cherrie would call many places home from San Saba, Washington, New Mexico, eventually settling in Kerrville for the last 20 years.
Cherie loved traveling, being on the move, seeing and experiencing new things this all which led to many adventures and road trips. Even if it was just a simple Saturday cruising garage sales, she was down to go.
She was truly a jack of all trades master of none as she liked to joke. She would work construction, own and operate her own gas station, she worked as a CNA, ranch hand, cook, and ran a housekeeping business. Her most important and loved roles in life was being a daughter, sister, mom and eventually a granny. Family was important to Cherrie. There was always a seat at her table, a place in her home for those she loved. She would be both mom and dad to 5 kids that she cherished with all heart. They in turn would make her granny to 14 beautiful souls.
Cherrie was the life of the party most anywhere she went with her infectious laugh and booming voice it was hard not to feel the glow of her energy.
Cherrie was honest and blunt. She would call it like she saw it even if it might hurt some feelings. This tends to get you labeled a bitch and she didn't mind and she wore it with pride. She accepted people for who they were flaws and all and would pass no judgement. She, herself was not perfect, she was human and believed in forgiveness and people's ability to change.
Cherrie is preceded in death by her father, Joe Knowles; and her brother, Martin Knowles.
She is survived by her mom, Evelyn Knowles; brothers Robert Knowles and Timothy Knowles (Charlene Knowles); children, Michael Taylor, Marshall Taylor (Jensie), Marcus Taylor, Matthew Taylor, and Tana Taylor (Anthony Holmes); and her grandchildren , Ethan, Jazmyne, Rin, Tabitha, Jade, Marcus Jr, Serenity, Jackson, Tanner, Gracelynn, William. Madelyn, Waylon and Lilian, all of Kerrville.
At this time a celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
