David Bryant Obituary

David Alan Bryant passed away on March 16th, 2026, at his home in Medina, Texas with his family at his side. He battled cancer with the same courage and determination that were ever present in his life of 76 years. David was born on July 25, 1949 in Fort Worth, Texas to Henry Harold and Lola Mae Bryant. He was the second of four children and one who valued their time together on family vacations.

Throughout his life, David was the quintessential artist. He was inspired by his travels through the West and found harmony with Native American culture. As a young man, his mastery of tribal dance and costume design was recognized throughout the Southwest.

David attended Paschal High School in Fort Worth and studied Fine Arts at the University of Texas, where he was a member of Sigma Nu fraternity. He became known for tall tales, told with such imagination and animation that they were bound to capture any audience. David generously shared his artistic vision, his musical talent, and his insightful knowledge. He was an inspiration to many.

In the early 1980’s, David started his own business, DAB of Texas. During that time, he met Melinda, his wife of 44 years. Their wide range of common interests landed them at the heart’s gate. They became soul mates who ventured through life on the back-roads where free thought and spiritual beauty were paramount. Eventually, David’s unique visual imagery led to a long, happy career as a corporate and wildlife photographer.

David loved deeply, perhaps no more so than for his family. His daughters, Angela and Bonnie, were the light of his life. He designed a beautiful home for them, kept them safe, and made sure they were educated as independent young women. In 2018, David and Melinda retired to their ideal hill country home on the Medina River. There, he showered his beloved grandchildren with adoration and perpetual radiance.

David was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister. He is survived by his loving wife, Melinda; daughters Angela Bryant Valdez, and her husband Daniel; Bonnie Bryant Johnson, and her husband Eric; grandchildren Luke and Abigail Valdez and Benjamin and Kaylee Johnson; sister Rebecca Watson; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held for David at his home at 2:00 p.m. on March 28, 2026. Contact a member of the family for details. May his memory always be a blessing
