David Salinas, 70, passed away peacefully on November 04, 2025, at his home in Kerrville. Born on October 25, 1955, in Houston to Armando and Rita Salinas. David grew up in Houston, graduated from Sam Houston High School, class of 1974. He continued his education at North Harris Community College and later attended Sam Houston State. He married his high school sweetheart, Shirley on December 08, 2009.
A natural problem-solver with an entrepreneurial spirit, David applied his talents across a wide range of fields, from grocery work and home remodeling to aviation technology and small engine repair. His mechanical mind and inventive hands could fix just about anything. Even in retirement, he remained active, often found tinkering with engines or helping others with their repairs.
David also had a lifelong love of music. In his younger years, he played in a band, and he passed on that passion to his only daughter, Venus. Alongside music, he shared with her his values of community, generosity, and deep Catholic faith.
A devoted volunteer, David gave his time to St. Vincent de Paul in Kerrville and the Diocese of Galveston-Houston, quietly living out his faith through service to others.
David will be remembered for his warmth, ingenuity, and unwavering devotion to his family, faith, and community.
David is survived by his wife Shirley; his daughter, Venus Wozniak (Justin); granddaughter, Gracie Wozniak; stepsons, Daniel Setterbo, Adam Setterbo (Christan), and Travis Setterbo (Abbie); grandchildren, Kimberlyn, Brooklyn, Jason, Knox, Arya, Tennyson and Thatcher; siblings, Linda DeLeon (Rick), Armando Salinas Jr. (Melodie), Yolanda Trump (Tom), Maria Parker and Paula Salinas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Armando and Rita Salinas; and his brother in law, Arthur Parker.
