David Seals

David Seals, 87, passed away from this life on December 13, 2023, in Kerrville. David was born on December 21, 1935, in New Orleans, LA to Flurcy Rose (Albarado) and Vernon Seals.  On April 09, 2011, he married his beloved wife Laura Halsell in Kerrville, where they resided together until his death.  

He proudly served in the US Marine Corp as a Corporal. David was driven to support his family by working full time while earning his college degree at University of Houston attending night school. He worked for Gulf Oil in Houston in the finance department for 30 years. Later in life, he drove an elementary school bus for Fredericksburg ISD and was well loved by the kids. 

David was known to spend his time outdoors working at the ranch or tending to his vegetable and herb gardens at home.   He was very sociable and loved to give everyone a hard time. With his love of numbers, playing cards and going to the casino was a favorite pastime. Because of his love of cooking, he even wrote a cookbook for his family to enjoy and carry on his favorite recipes.  

He was preceded in death by his parents; and son, Brian Joseph Seals.  

David is survived by loving wife, Laura; his children, David Seals (Anita); Donna Rice (Bruce), and Lisa Schallenberg (Lou); stepson Patrick Halsell (Kaylin); grandchildren, Jennifer, Andrew, Megan, Mitchell, Alexis, Rylie, Claire, and Emery.
