Dennis Roberts Obituary

Dennis Leroy Roberts, born January 24, 1946, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2024, in Kerrville, Texas, at the age of 77.

Dennis was the son of the late Dennis W. Roberts and Lorraine Buhil Cassels, and stepson of the late William Cassels. He was preceded in death by his cherished wife, Lena Roberts, and siblings Sharron Cooper, Winifred Carpenter, and Timothy Cassels. He is survived by his siblings William Cassels and Peggy Jackson.

A proud veteran, Dennis joined the United States Air Force in 1963, where he served honorably as a Sergeant and Air Force Policeman until 1968. During his service, he earned his GED in January of 1965 through the United States Air Force Institute, a testament to his determination and commitment to growth.

After completing his military service, Dennis pursued his passion for technology, earning an Associate Degree in Electronic Technology from Tampa Technical Institute in December of 1973. He went on to work for Texas Instruments in Lubbock and Lewisville, Texas, where he applied his skills and love for electronics for many years until the mid-1990s.

Dennis had an insatiable curiosity and love for all things electronic. He was most at home building computers from scratch and organizing systems with meticulous precision—everything labeled and in its place. He was a man who found joy in order and beauty in structure. His love of fishing took him to places where he could cast a line and find peace by the water. He was also an avid lover of music, particularly the rock and roll of the 60s, 70s, and 80s, which filled his home and heart with rhythm and nostalgia.

Above all, Dennis was a man of faith who loved God deeply. His Christian faith shaped his life, his values, and his love for his family. He is survived by his three sons, Danny Roberts (Fort Worth, TX), Ward Roberts (Kerrville, TX), and Seth Roberts (Aubrey, TX); and by his treasured grandchildren: Luke, Arabella, Aiden, Matthew, Benjamin, Renae, and Kathryn Roberts.

Dennis will be laid to rest with military honors at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, with his beloved wife, Lena Roberts, who served in the U.S. Coast Guard as a nurse. Their legacy of service, faith, and love continues on through their family.
