Dona Rhea (Whitton) Mideke was born on November 1, 1934 and passed away on November 12, 2023, Kerrville, TX at the age of 89.

Dona was born in Kansas City, KS to Lewis Raymond Whitton and Ellen Agnes (Lynch) Whitton. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister Mary Ellen (Whitton) Wilson; and brother-in-law Edward Leo Wilson.

Dona is survived by her son, Robert Joseph Mideke (spouse Maggie) of Ingram; son, James Raymond Mideke (spouse Debbie); grandson, Cameron Mideke of Green Cove Springs, FL; step grandson, Scott Street (spouse Shannon); great granddaughters, Violet, Chloe and Charlie; son, John Anthony Mideke of Kerrville; granddaughters Erin Marie (Mideke) Walsh (spouse Chris); great grandson, Zane Walsh of Forest Lake, Minnesota.

Dona and her family moved to Oklahoma City in 1937. She spent much of her life in Bethany, OK. Dona graduated from Catholic High School in 1953 (renamed to Bishop McGuinness Catholic H.S. in 1959), shortly after that she married and began raising her 3 sons. For many years, Dona worked as an Executive Administrative Assistant to President of Dictaphone Corporation (now Pitney Bowes), she was called “Mama” by all staff members. Dona enjoyed dancing, sewing, machine embroidery, and quilting.

A very special THANK YOU goes out to Dona’s dear friend and caregiver Nancy Redhead of Kerrville. We don’t know what Dona would have done without her. Additionally, we would like to THANK the staff of River Hills Health Center and Alamo Hospice for their wonderful care.

In lieu of flowers and in memory of Dona, the family requests that donations be made to Notre Dame Catholic Church, 909 Main St, Kerrville, TX, 78028, online giving available (830-257-5961). Notre Dame Catholic Church was key in bringing Dona back to the Catholic faith. Funeral arrangements are under care of Wright’s Funeral Parlor.
