Douglas Baldwin Obituary

On the evening of July 11, 2025, Douglas “Bubba” Baldwin, age 74, peacefully entered into eternal rest and joined his Heavenly Father.

Born on March 26, 1951, in Kerrville, Texas, Bubba was the beloved son of Minnie Etta Baldwin and M.C. Baldwin. He attended the historic Doyle School in Kerrville and later continued his education at Gary Job Corps in San Marcos.

Bubba’s strong work ethic and welcoming spirit led him to roles with the Kerrville Bus Company and the Hard Rock Café in San Antonio. He was a proud member of both the Doyle Ex-Students Association and the Black Panther Party, reflecting his deep connection to community and social justice.

In 2009, Bubba was united in marriage to Mader Baldwin; though they later divorced in 2012.

Known for his warmth and unique style, Bubba was rarely seen without one of his cherished baseball caps from his extensive collection. He also had a passion for wood crafting, a hobby he enjoyed with care and creativity.

Bubba is lovingly remembered by his sons, Kenneth D. Carrington Sr. and Douglas Baldwin Jr.; his sisters, Bertha L. Dickerson and Queen E. Dimery; his brother, Charlie Baldwin;  grandchildren, Keshawn Carrington, Kenneth Carrington Jr., Jordan Kier, Kash Carrington, Kameron Carrington, Alexis (John) Cisse, Arrianna Baldwin, Patience Baldwin, Douglas Baldwin III, Raelynn Baldwin, Stassney Baldwin, Keith Baldwin, Booker Baldwin, Major Baldwin, Ayanna Baldwin and Minnie Etta Baldwin; 5 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Anthony R. Baldwin and Major Baldwin; and grandparents, Viola and Jeff Boldin.
