On Friday, March 27,2020, Elizabeth lost her battle with an aggressive form of metastatic breast cancer. She tried so hard to live. Her husband, son, and grandson were with her to the end, and she died in the arms of her husband.
Elizabeth was born in Houston, Texas to Larry and Edwina Banta on November 19, 1952. She is survived by her husband Jeff Basey of Kerrville; son, Steve Juarez of Beaumont; grandson Eric Juarez of Kerrville; granddaughter, Amber Juarez of Stonewall; brothers, Gary Banta and Jon Banta & his wife Margaret of Tyler; sisters, Patricia Young & her husband Patrick, and Dianna Garret of Deere Park, along with several nieces and nephews.
Elizabeth had a personality that anyone who met her was instantly drawn too. She had a laugh and smile that would light up a room, she was kind and generous to a fault and always put others before herself. ln addition, she had a beautiful singing voice and had even professionally recorded a CD that she shared with friends and family alike. She will be terribly missed by all who knew her.
Funeral arrangements amid this COVID- 19 crisis that the world is facing, there will be no formal memorial or funeral arrangements for Elizabeth Basey. We are asking that family or friends that want to get together and remember her are encouraged to do so in their own private homes.
