Elton Dwain Wood was born on October 5, 1930 to Carl & Pearl Wood in Wingate, Texas. He passed into Heaven on October 7, 2024 peacefully at home surrounded by family. Elton married Thelma Louise Gandy on August 21, 1949 in San Angelo, Texas and they were married for 69 years prior to her passing.
He was the Father of five children: Dan (Belinda), Scott (Angela), Melinda (John), Tracy (Lori), and Tim (Becky). He was grandfather to nine grandchildren; Harrison & Gina Wood, Joel (Kimberly), John Mark (Allison) and Jeffery Rodgers, Rachel & Nicole Wood, Jessica Henry (Travis) and Jacob Wood (Amey). He also had six great-granddaughters; Ashlea, Emily, Allie, Tori, Vivienne and Everleigh.
Elton was a graduate of Oklahoma State University, a Warrant Officer in the US Army, and a member of Calvary Temple Church. His favorite thing in life was Louise, his eternal soulmate and lifelong travel partner.
