Erasmo Montes De Oca

Erasmo Montes De Oca, 84, went to be with the Lord on the early morning of March 08, 2021 in Kerrville. He was born on Nov. 25, 1936 in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico to the late Encarnacion and Guadalupe Montes De Oca.

Erasmo attended primary school in Mercedes, Texas and furthered his schooling in Corpus Christi. He was a member of the National Guard.

Erasmo married the love of his life Esperanza Cuevas on June 15, 1958 in Corpus Christi. They lived in the Corpus Christi area for another 25 years before moving to Kerrville in 1985.

He started working for Coca Cola as a teen and he became salesman of the year for the company in 1974. He had a love for sales leading him to work for Dr. Pepper, Budweiser, Dolly Madison, Buttercrust and El Lago. Erasmo later started his own business in which had to later closed due to unforeseen medical problems that forced him to retire in 2004.

In his pastime, Erasmo enjoyed fishing, attending concerts, playing poker and billiard games. He loved to make menudo and barbeque for his family. Later in life, he loved to listen to Tejano Music and was a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan. He would appreciate a good fast-food hamburger and fries. Erasmo cherished his time traveling to see his grandkids and spending time with them.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Ramon, Guadalupe, Irma and Edmond. 

Those left to honor his memory include his loving wife, Esperanza of Kerrville; children, Richard Montes De Oca and wife, Rosie of San Antonio, Rachel Montes De Oca and life partner, Patricia Castillo of Kerrville, Roland Montes De Oca of Kerrville, Randy Montes De Oca and wife, Jennifer of Houston, and Leslie Montes De Oca of Kerrville; brother, Encarnacion Montes De Oca Jr. and wife Eulalia of Kerrville; 8 grandchildren, Isaac, Dalton, Karyn, Elyssa, Alexandra, Hailey, Mia, and Maryah; and 3 great grandchildren, Trae, Jax and Ares.

The family will be holding a service at a later date. They have requested in lieu of flowers, please leave sweet note or memory on the tribute wall for them to cherish.
