Errol “Lynn” Poole Obituary

Errol “Lynn” Poole passed away peacefully at his home in Kerrville, Texas, on January 20, 2026, after a courageous battle with Parkinson's disease. He will be deeply missed by his devoted wife of 61 years, Aleida Poole, and his daughters, Christina (Caleb) Strange and Nancy Poole. He is also survived by a brother, a sister, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A United States Air Force Vietnam Veteran, Lynn served with distinction as an air traffic controller and radar operator. He was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal for his service.

After completing his military service, Lynn built a long and successful career in computer technology, work that took him and his family to many cities across the United States and Canada and created a lifetime of memories and adventures. He and Aleida shared a love of travel and made it their goal to stop at every casino along the way. While they never struck it rich on the slot machines, they truly hit the jackpot in life together and through the many lifelong friendships they formed.

Lynn had a wry sense of humor and liked to play harmless pranks that kept his friends and family laughing. His interests were wide-ranging and included fishing, golfing, music, wildlife photography, creating video memories, building and flying RC airplanes, woodworking, and computers. He loved all animals, especially his retired racing greyhound "Junior," and his wily but stoic Wire Fox Terrier "Maggie."

In his younger years, he played basketball, soccer, baseball, and hockey. As the years passed, he enjoyed following sports from the comfort of home.

Lynn's life was defined by love, love for his country, his family, his friends, his animals, and the many adventures he and Aleida shared together.

A special thank you to Peterson Hospice for the care and support they provided during his final days.
