Faye Amette Buckley Obituary

Faye Amette Buckley, 75, passed away on October 4, 2022, at her home in Kerrville, Texas.

Born Faye Amette Rigby on April 10, 1947, in Alice, Texas, she was the daughter of William Robert Rigby (January 16, 1908 to January 12, 1989) and Lillie Adele Tuttle (December 2, 1909 to February 23, 2000). Her father worked for Mobil Oil Company, so she spent her childhood in Venezuela and South Texas.

Amette was a 1965 graduate of Mission High School, having recently moved there her senior year. It was at this time that she met the love of her life Michael Dennis Buckley. After graduation, and his enlistment in the US Navy, they were married on January 16, 1966, in Puget Sound, Washington. Together they would raise two daughters in an adventure that began in San Francisco, but would traverse through San Diego, the Rio Grande Valley, College Station, Denver, Corpus Christi and ultimately to Kerrville. She worked in banks and law firms throughout her life and helped support her husband during his education at Texas A&M. Amette loved the beach and the water and accompanied her husband Mike on many of his fishing and scuba diving trips. Her pride and joy were her daughters and grandchildren. She consistently sacrificed to keep them happy and healthy. They were her greatest hobby.

Survivors include her husband; daughters Michelle Amette Buckley (Alex Kutch) of Houston Texas and April Krystine Buckley de Garcia (Martin Garcia) of Kerrville, Texas; grandchildren, Oscar Alexander Kutch of Houston, Texas, Carmela Xamette Garcia, and Pilar Xolaya Garcia of Kerrville Texas; brother-in-law Patrick Buckley (Marylin) of Pagosa Springs, Colorado, sister-in-law Krysti Davis (Michael Ohlinger) of Mission, Texas, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Robert Dean Rigby (October 27, 1931 to February 7, 1997).

The family would like to thank the many friends and neighbors that helped Amette and kept her spirits high. She told us how grateful she was to be surrounded by so many caring people.
