Genevieve “Lawrie” Nomer died peacefully August 20, 2022, after a brief illness. Born July 7, 1926, in New York City, she attended The Hewitt School and graduated from Barnard College in 1948.
For many years she worked at the Atlantic City Free Public Library, eventually earning her Master’s Degree in Library Science and becoming it’s Director.
In 1982, she moved with her late husband Howell Nomer to Kerrville and worked for 10 years at the Schreiner University Library. She was active in the Kerr County Democratic Party, The Trailblazers Walking Club and the Unitarian Fellowship.
She is survived by her four children: Louise White of Kerrville, Lawrence Nomer of Wake Forest, NC, Timothy Nomer of Poway, CA, and Emily Nomer of New Paltz, NY. She is also survived by 2 grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Services will be private.
