George Vernon Nichols passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Feb. 07, 2025. George was born Sept. 27, 1942, in Kerrville, Texas to proud parents Ernest Benton Nichols and Betty Rogers Nichols. He grew up on Nichols Hills outside of Ingram Texas. He graduated from Southwestern Junior College in 1960. From the very beginning, he was a naturally skilled carpenter. His imagination and skill would produce beautiful and functional houses and churches. He would often say that the impossible jobs just take a little longer. If you needed wiring, plumbing, painting and cabinet work. He could do it all. He met the love of his life and married Sharon Kaye Foth on July 11, 1963. George cared for and tutored anyone that was willing to learn how to repair and maintain a house. He loved Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior and would witness not only in word but in action. He often spoke about the Loving Character of God. He would take every Sabbath to rest but the other 6 days a week he was repairing or building for the community or family. He never met a stranger and would give the shirt off his back to help anyone and was love by all that knew him.
George is preceded in death by his parents Ernest Benton Nichols and Betty Rogers Nichols. His 2 brothers and 3 sisters.
He is survived by his Wife Sharon Nichols' daughter, Shawnerie Vickers (Stephen), Melissa Brooks (Todd); 3 grand children; 7 great-grand children; and multiple nieces and nephews.
