Gordon W. Schalla of Ingram, passed away at the age of 83, two weeks from his 62nd wedding anniversary. He died peacefully at home with his family.
He was born in Williamston, Michigan, moved to California at 16. He served in the US Air Force. While stationed in Texas, he met his beloved wife, Jerene (Jere).
Gordon is survived by his wife and three of their four sons, all of whom were able to be with him in his final days. He also left behind 12 grandchildren and 8 great grands, all of whom adored their Papa.
Gordon worked for most of his career for Southern Union Gas Company in El Paso, TX and retired to Ingram. He was a faithful member of Hunt Methodist Church. A quiet, generous, and beloved man, he loves many family members and friends who will miss him and who all look forward to the moment when they see him again.
