Henry Schumacher Obituary

Henry Allen Schumacher (98) Hunt, Kerr County, TX native passed peacefully August 28, 2025 at home in Richmond, TX. Born into Texas Pioneer Schumacher family, December 27, 1926 at the family ranch near Schumacher Crossing, Hunt, TX.

A mind for detail and an ultimate story teller about his youth in Kerr County and adventures through out life. He contributed tremendously to the content of the book “Hunt Texas Early Years 1857-1959”. His grandfather, Christian Schumacher helped shape Kerrville, Ingram, Hunt’ communities beginnings. He participated as the Parade Marshall of Hunt, Tx 100 year Centennial Parade (1912-2012). He was a World War II Army-Air Force Veteran, in the Texas Army Reserves and retired from Kelly Air Force Base in San Antonio, TX, where he held many positions. Perhaps the most interesting that of recovering top secret equipment from US military planes that crashed world wide. He was affiliated with the Woodmen of the World and Hill Country Circuit Horse Jockey, riding family racehorse White Arrow in surrounding County Fairs.

Allen is survived by his 3 daughters, Marie Jeanette Schumacher Johnston (Eddie Lutz) of Richmond, TX, Dottie Marie Schumacher Jones (Steve Jones) of Kingsland, TX and Barbara Ann Schumacher Jamerson of Round Rock, TX; grandchildren, Ginger Schwartz (Lou Schwartz) Weslee Jones (Julie Jones) and Kimberly Alexander; great grandchildren, Meghan Ingalls (Peter Ingalls) Cooper Schwartz, Shelby Jones, Blake Jones, Kaiden Alexander; great great grandchildren, Jaxon Ingalls, Parker Ingalls.
