James Adham Edwards passed away on May 28, 2025, in Kerrville, Texas. He was born in Bolivar, Missouri on May 19, 1984. James graduated from Tivy High School. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Schreiner University, and a Master of Arts in Spanish literature from Texas State University – San Marcos. James combined his passion for travel with his work and taught English in South Korea, and Spanish at Schreiner University in addition to his binational travel to his home country, Mexico. He was an accomplished artist, singer, and musician, with his art on display at River’s Edge Gallery.
He is preceded in death by his younger brother, David Bruce Edwards; his father, James Frank Edwards; his uncle, Gonzalo Arellano; and his aunt, Lety Cooper.
James is survived by his mother, Jessica Edwards of Kerrville; his grandmother, Teresa Cortez of Kerrville; his brother, James Frank Edwards II of GA; his aunt Angela Williams of St. Louis, MO; his aunts Conchi Gurola of Kerrville, and his aunt, Sandra Barefoot of Kerrville; his first-cousins, Karla Samson, Teresa Josephine Williams, Jessica Reyes, Sarita Limon, Gonzalito Arellano, Melody Schiaffino; nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and cousins in Mexico and the U.S.; and incredible friends across the world.
