Jim was born in Alexandria, Louisiana December 18, 1956 to James and Betty Kimbrell. As a child it became apparent his love for animals. Jim, “Buba” enjoyed spending time with his family and little sister. As he grew older his interests expanded, Jim owned several dirt bikes and race cars in his time. Other interests and good times were had attending concerts, dancing to any genre of music, drawing, hunting arrowheads and spending time in the honky-tonks local to Bandera. In April of 1990, Jim welcomed his only daughter, Misty into the world. He was excited to tell everyone, this was the best day of his life.

Throughout Jim’s life he lived and worked in many areas of the United States. He has lived in Arizona, Washington, Louisiana, Alaska and then settled in Texas with his family.
