James "Jim" Saulter Obituary

James Floyd Saulter, known as Jim to his many friends, was born on June 26, 1944, in Brookhaven, MS to Joseph Saulter and Jessie Maud James Saulter.

Jim passed from this life on Saturday, January 7, 2023, after a short illness at Sid Peterson Medical Center in Kerrville, TX.

Jim got to “Cowboy” in his younger years in West Texas and East Arizona areas. It was during this time that he met and married “Boots.”

After having their daughter, “Kit,” Jim soon realized that being a “Cowboy” didn’t pay the bills. It was then that he turned his attention to becoming a crane operator for offshore drilling rigs.

Now if you knew Jim, you knew that he could and would go into any bar with his guitar and take over the entertainment for the night. Jim had a love for the old songs, especially Hank Williams, Sr.

In the early 1980s Boots and Jim moved to Harper where they built their dream home on 12 acres just outside of town. They became involved in many activities with the community and anything going on at school with Kit.

Jim started working on mobile homes, refurbishing, and repairing them during the latter part of the 80s. This was when he met up with Gail and Charlie along with many other friends that Jim spoke of very fondly, he has many that will miss his “crustiness” and joking mannerism.

Jim, you are now and forever reunited with your precious wife Boots and daughter Kit Saulter.

Rest in Peace our dear friend.
