Janette Louise Muecke, 75, of Bandera, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2025, in San Antonio. Born on February 19, 1950, in Bandera to Willis and Mickie Causey. She graduated from Bandera High School and went on to become a Registered Nurse, fulfilling a lifelong calling to care for others.
Janette’s nursing career was marked by compassion, leadership, and dedication. She served as Director of Nurses at Air Force Village in San Antonio and later retired from Embrace Hospice in Kerrville. Known for her playful spirit, she found joy in celebrating holidays and special moments with her patients and staff. Her sharp wit and wonderful sense of humor made her a beloved colleague and friend, and her selfless nature left a lasting impact on everyone she cared for.
On February 14, 1970, Janette married the love of her life, Wesley Muecke. The two shared a deep bond built on love, laughter, and mutual respect. They eventually settled in Bandera, where Janette found great joy in gardening and had even made plans to plant 30 trees on her property—a reflection of her ever-growing spirit and love for nature. Together, Janette and Wesley enjoyed traveling, and after Wesley’s passing in 2010, Janette continued to explore new places, especially with her grandchildren, making treasured memories on visits to national parks across the country.
Janette had a deep love for her family, which was the heart of her world. She was a steady shoulder to lean on, offering tough love when needed and unconditional support always. She found joy in shopping, planting her garden, and spending time surrounded by family.
She is survived by her devoted children: daughter, Dawn Riggs and husband, Troy; and son, David Muecke and wife, Heather; grandchildren, William Muecke (Adriana), Samantha Muecke, Troi Armendariz (Antonio), Tess Riggs (Chad Lane), and Taylor Riggs, along with nine beloved great-grandchildren; her siblings, Dee, Butch, and John Causey, and will be lovingly remembered by extended family and many dear friends. She touched countless lives and leaves behind memories that will be treasured always.
A celebration of life will be held at Janette’s home in Bandera on 9 am, July 19, 2025. In lieu of flowers, please consider planting a tree in her memory.
