Jerry Wayne Colwell

It is with deep respect and a heavy heart that we announce the passing away of Jerry Wayne Colwell, 71, on December 10, 2021, in Kerrville. Jerry was born on Sept. 06, 1950, in Abilene to the late Bill and Dorothy Colwell.

 Jerry attended Hobbs High School, Hardin Simmons, UTPB, and Texas State. He honorable served in the US Army during the Vietnam War (1968-1971). He worked in the oil and gas companies and retired from San Antonio ISD (and other local districts) as an educational diagnostician.

Jerry was a practicing Buddhist and loves spending time with family and friends. He was always willing to lend a hand and help others. In his spare time, he would search for fossils.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister LuAnn Colwell; father-in-law, Preston Cox; and nephew, Charles Johnson.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Sharon Colwell; children, Michael Colwell (Chrysta) of Universal City and Mark Colwell (Shanna) of Garden Ridge; brothers, Ron Colwell of Abilene, and Dan Colwell (Jennifer) of Midland; sister, Rebecca Cox of Bandera; mother-in-law, Carlene Cox of Kerrville; grandchildren, Kaylea, Camron, Owen, and Charley.
