Jerry Lee Lugo Sr., 61, passed away on July 28, 2025, in Comfort, Texas.
He was born on August 14, 1963, in Phoenix, Arizona, to Margaret and Francisco “Frank” Lugo Sr Jerry grew up in Buckeye, Arizona, and raised his family there before moving to the Hill Country, where he worked as a master plumber and called Comfort home for the past 20 years.
Jerry was a devoted father who rarely missed a game. He coached all-star baseball, football, and wrestling—earning a reputation as an amazing coach and mentor to many. He was known for his unmistakable laugh, the kind that filled a room and left a lasting impression. A lifelong Pittsburgh Steelers fan, he loved playing round of golf, firing up the grill for a good barbecue and relaxing with a cold Bud Light while listening to classic rock and roll.
Known for his honesty and straight talk, Jerry was a man of principle; firm but loving, funny, and deeply loyal. He raised his children with strength, humor, and heart, and his presence will be profoundly missed.
He was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus and a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Comfort.
He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Lugo Sr., and his beloved son, Frankie Lugo.
Jerry is survived by his mother, Margaret Lugo; his wife, Connie Lugo; his children, Jerry Lugo Jr., Jacob Lugo, and Sandra Lugo (Jose Ramirez); and his granddaughters, Zophia, Elliana, Briella, and Celeste. He is also survived by his siblings, Joe Lugo, Jeff Lugo, and Janie Lugo, along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members who will carry his memory with love.
