Jesse Eugene Nelson

Jesse Eugene Nelson fell asleep in death on March 25, 2024, in Kerrville, TX at the age of 80. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Denny and Jolene. He was born January 25, 1944 to the late Jessie and Bessie Nelson in Mexia, TX. He grew up with his parents and sisters: Denny, Rose, and Jolene.

Although his family lived in Mexia most of the time, they briefly lived in Kerrville- where Jesse fell in love with the Texas Hill Country. On August 17, 1957, he, his father, and his sister Rose, were baptized as Jehovah's Witnesses in a horse trough in Corsicana, TX. In 1972, he married Patricia Bartek and they had two children: Melody and Jared. He later married Roberta Sanders in 1989.

He worked for the VA Hospital in Marlin, TX as a respiratory therapist and for Texas Utilities as a welder and mechanic. After retiring, he and Roberta moved to the place he always wanted to live - Kerrville. He loved camping, fishing, and spending time with family & friends. He was passionate about music. He played several different instruments, repaired instruments, and gave music lessons. His greatest Passion was sharing Bible truths with others about a beautiful paradise on earth that will soon come. He wholeheartedly believed in God's promise that there will be a resurrection where he will be reunited with all his loved ones.

He is survived by his daughter Melody (and husband Bobby) Gore of Kerrville, son Jared Nelson of Austin, sister Rose (and husband Sammie) Jones of Mexia, and granchildren Ryan, Braden, and Monica, and his nieces and nephews.
