Joe Ray Wolfe, 73, passed away on March 12, 2022, at Hill Country Memorial Hospital in Fredericksburg, Texas.
He was born on March 7, 1949, in Gorman to the late Curtis Ray Wolfe and Vestal Audine Stroud Searcy. He graduated from Jacksboro High School in 1967 and went on to attended Southwest Texas State for a short time prior to joining the US Navy. During his 8 years in the Navy, he spent 18 months in foreign and/or sea service aboard the USS Sampson [DDG-10]. He trained and worked as an Electronic Technician (Radar).
Joe was blessed with many lifelong friendships and an abundance of new friendships made during his many years living in Kerrville and managing Lone Star Mini Storage in Ingram. He loved to travel and his favorite trips were to Australia and Malaysia.
He was predeceased by his father, mother and brother, Terry Mac Wolfe.
Joe’s surviving loved ones; sisters, Ruth Anne Austin and husband Perry (Abilene, TX), Cyndy Auld and husband Kenneth (Mineral Wells, TX); nieces, Jacinda Ball and husband Kevin (Abilene, TX), Shaney McNamara and husband Eric (Houston, TX); nephews, Tommy Mac Wolfe and wife Tasha (Harper, TX) and Nathan Wolfe (Bend, OR) and step brothers, Tony Fowler (Jacksboro, TX), Joe Stout and wife Teri (Weatherford, TX); and step sister, Terry Lynn Stephens (Decatur, TX).
Military graveside service will be held 11 am, Friday, April 22, 2022, at the Texas Veterans Cemetery, Abilene, TX. A lunch and fellowship immediately following at Lytle Land & Cattle, Abilene, TX
Celebration of Life will be held 11:30 am, Saturday, May 7, 2022, at the YO Ranch Hotel, Kerrville, TX to enjoy lunch and fellowship.
