John Dreyfuss Brown

John Dreyfuss Brown, 74, passed away at his home in Kerrville, Texas on Wednesday, May 18, 2022.

He was born in Dallas, Texas on July 7, 1947 to John and Joan Brown.  He married his “bride”, Nita Richardson Brown, on July 4, 1981. They resided in Houston, Texas until his retirement when they moved to Kerrville.

John attended Lamar High School in Houston and Schreiner Military Institute in Kerrville where he graduated in l965. He served in the Army National Guard for five years beginning in 1969 and began his career in the mortgage business until he retired.

John was an avid golfer and member of River Oaks Country Club in Houston where he established many life-long friends.  All vacations (and their wedding) were planned around golf courses. He could tell you in detail about each and every hole he played.

John is survived by his wife, Nita, son John Michael Brown and wife Ellen, son Scott Brown, grandson Jackson, granddaughters Lila and Caroline, and sisters Sally (Mike) Cunningham and Carolyn Brown.

John showed amazing courage and strength in the face of a terrible disease.  He will be missed by all that knew and loved him.
