Joseph Jasper Jr., age 78, of Kerrville, Texas, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2025. He was born on August 19, 1947, in Kerrville to Joseph Jasper Sr. and Dorothy Olivia (Lewis) Jasper.
Joseph was a proud veteran who served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corps. Following his military service, he worked as a welder for four years in Houston before returning to his hometown of Kerrville. Over the years, Joseph dedicated himself to a strong work ethic and steady service, holding positions at Schreiner University, the Inn of the Hills Hotel, Kerrville Ambulatory Care Center, and the Kerrville VA Medical Center, where he worked as a file clerk until his retirement.
Joseph was educated at Kashmere Gardens High School in Houston, where he participated in JROTC and ran track. He later attended Schreiner University. A man of faith, he was baptized at Forest Lawn Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. M. L. Bryant. His faith guided his life and was reflected in his love for singing in the church choir and his generous spirit. Joseph was also a registered blood marrow donor with M.D. Anderson Cancer Center and supported numerous charitable organizations.
Known for his mechanical skill, Joseph had a lifelong love for fixing up cars and was a mechanic by trade. He was a quiet yet talented man whose hands were rarely still and whose heart was always giving.
On August 29, 2009, Joseph married Marsha Orlene Jasper, and together they shared a loving marriage rooted in faith, companionship, and devotion.
Joseph is survived by his beloved wife, Marsha Orlene Jasper; his children, Patricia Jasper, Robert Jasper, Aretha Jasper, and Wilford Charles; his stepchildren, Tielow Henson (Aaron), Jermaine Clark, and Erma Cameron; only living Aunt, Sylvia Lewis; 19 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Dorothy Nell Cormier, Sidney Jasper (Lori), and LaWanda Bell (Ronald); Sister in Laws, Brenda Jasper, CJ Jackson (Navel), Brother in laws Wilburn Houston (Donies) Jarvis Houston (Gloria) Marvin Cashaw (Monica); along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family who cherished him deeply.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Jasper Sr. and Dorothy Olivia (Lewis) Jasper; his brothers, David Earl Jasper, Marshall Ray, and Charles Anthony Jasper Sr.; his grandparents; brother in laws Glenn Cashaw & Dominic Cormier; six uncles; three aunts; and his stepson, Alfonzia Clark II.
