Kathy "Kate" Jane Scott (Riley), 77, gently passed away Wednesday morning, January 8, 2025 in Kerrville, Texas at Riverside Nursing Home. Kate suffered greatly since having a massive stroke in November 2022.
Kate was born July 18, 1947 to James Riley, CWO-4 US Army and Virginia (Byrd) Riley of Yates Center, both who preceded her in death. A graduate of Yates Center High School, class of 1965, Kate went on to work in the aircraft industry, airline scheduling, hospital administration, sales and tourism in Wichita, Texarkana and Fredericksburg, Texas. Kate was a real pistol and lived life to the fullest. She loved traveling and camping adventures, decorating, gardening, Mexican food and cats. Larry loved and will miss her so.
She is survived by her husband Larry Scott, SMSgt USAF (retired); daughters Jill of Wichita, Kansas Elizabeth of Derby, Kansas and Jennifer of Wausau, Wisconsin; sister Patsy Kester of Wichita; granddaughter Lillian of Plover, Wisconsin; and many nieces and nephews in San Antonio and Austin, Texas. Kate requested cremation and will be transported to Kansas in the spring for burial in St. Martin's Cemetery, Piqua, Kansas at a later date.
