Katie Scott, child of God, was born on May 30, 1982 to her loving parents, Bill and LaJuan Scott in Tyler, Texas. Katie was born with many obstacles which she overcame. This overcomer was
tickled to enjoy a baby brother, Will, four years later. She was equally excited to welcome Jessica, her sister-in-law when she and Will married in 2011. Katie was predeceased by her grandparents, Harmel and Dorothy Moss of ElDorado, AR, and Dr. John and Katherine Scott of Mineola, TX. Katie loved making beaded necklaces for friends and family, and her most favorite color was purple. Riding horses in Special Olympics delighted her, and she proudly displayed her numerous trophies and ribbons.
Katie enjoyed watching her nephews, Liam and Wyatt, from her bedroom window as they raced their police car around the track. Spending much time watching videos, Katie preferred watching Frozen every night before bed. Another favorite was her stuffed animal, Sulley, from Monsters, Inc.
Katie left us on May 1st peacefully with her loved ones surrounding her. Throughout her life, Katie loved everyone she encountered totally free of judgement. Knowing her close relationship with God, Katie completely trusted and loved Him, and they talked often. Heaven’s gain is our loss and now Katie has no obstacles as she shines her light to the world eternally.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 12, at 11:00 AM at Bethel Chapel Assembly of God Church in El Dorado, Arkansas, with a reception to follow in the Family Life Center. Services
will be conducted by her Uncle Steve. In lieu of flowers, donations to Peterson Hospice in Kerrville, TX or Bethel Chapel Assembly of God Church are appreciated.
