Kirk-Patrick Kotula, 81, lost his battle to cancer the night of August 29, 2022, with his wife. Kirk never gave up the fight even after every diagnosis, he continued to focus on the future and how they were going to deal with it.
He has positive up lifting nature and that was how he chose to face life. He always was planning headed for the next adventure and talking about the future.
Kirk served in the US Marine Corp for 6 years and then went on to work for the State Department for over more than 30 years. He was dedicated to his work and loved what he did. He had confident friendships, he built bonds with his colleagues all over the world that made lasting friends.
He enjoyed traveling, history, good books, poetry, listening to classic and soft rock music, Winston Churchill and Saint Pope John Paul II.
The art of conversation was not lost on Kirk and his friends; he loved to share stories of his travels to different countries, where he lived many years oversees. Kirk had a great sense of humor and joking around. In his free time, he enjoyed riding his bike, working out in the gym, and going to the Bandera Gun Club. Kirk loved a good hamburger and nice cup of coffee!
Graveside service will be held 10:30am, September 28, 2022, at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio.
Kirk-Patrick loved God, his Country, and the Marine Corp!!!!
