On the early morning of April 29, 2021, Lanny Roy Coleman was called home to be with the Lord. He was born on Sept. 05, 1950 to the late Roy and Imogene Coleman in Kerrville. Lanny married the loved of his life, Mary Keller on July 04, 1991 in Kerrville.
Lanny worked and lived in Kerrville most of his life but spent time in the Temple and Belton area too. In his early years, he was a minister, a police office and even worked on a shrimp boat. His later years, he worked construction in the Hill Country. If you needed it fixed, Lanny was your man. He loved to help family and friends with projects with the labeling him a “Jack of all Trades”.
The legacy Lanny leaves behind is one of love and kindness. He was a true family man, wonderful husband, daddy, and papa. Lanny always made you feel safe and protected. No matter what life throw at you, he would listen to you whole heartedly, and then give you sound advice. Lanny also had an amazing sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. He had a nickname for everyone.
Some of Lanny’s favorite hobbies were fishing, camping, and spending time on the water. He also was a true rockhound always stopping to collect rocks.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Heidi Welsh; brothers, Jerry, Leslie, and Johnny Coleman; and sister, Edna Schafer.
Lanny is survived by his loving wife, Mary Coleman; their children, Joseph Vance, Doris Elkins, and Kelby Farish; his children, Lance, Shannon, and Matthew; sisters, Glenda Quinn and Gail Henley; grandchildren, Mikala, Cody, Jamison, Sarah, Aubrey, Owen, Phillip, Evan, and Lola; great grandchildren, Annistyn and Acelynn. Also, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
