Lehman "Lee" Strickland Obituary

Lehman “Lee” Strickland, 92, passed away on February 7, 2024 in Kerrville. He was born in Coldwater, Mississippi to Eugene Strickland and Vera Leslie Pardue on August 1, 1931.

He joined the Army, which brought him to San Antonio with his first wife, Frances, stationed at Ft. Sam Houston. Lee retired as a medic with over 20 years of service. He served during the Korean Conflict and two tours of duty in Vietnam, earning him a Purple Heart and two Bronze Stars for valor.

Lee and Frances were married for 23 years and brought forth six children. Upon moving to the Hill Country, he remarried to Dollie Peschel of Kerrville in 1982. He loved to dance, travel and in later years enjoyed going to Eagle Pass to relax and gamble.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters Estelle, Lorene, Carolyn and Shirley; his two daughters, Victoria Jones and Brenda Finfinger; and his wife, Dollie .

He Is survived by his children, Larry Strickland of San Antonio; Julie Strickland of San Antonio; William Strickland of San Antonio; and Sandra Head of Pleasanton; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; along with several nieces and nephews.

Lee will be interred at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at a later date.
