Leland Dale Haynes Obituary

Leland Dale Haynes, 82, passed from his earthly life on June 19, 2024, at his residence.

He was born on June 06, 1942, in Fredericksburg, to Mary Frances Evans Haynes and Leland Porter Haynes.  He graduated from South Houston High School and Southwest Texas State College, where he received a bachelor’s degree in industrial arts.

Dale began his love of the outdoors and hunting as a young child. He hunted with his parents on a lease in Mason County and killed his first buck at the age of 8. As an adult, there was nothing that Dale loved more than hunting with his sons on the Peays Ranch in Coke County, Texas.

Dale was talented artistically in drawing, photography, leather work and numerous other areas of Art.

He resided in Ingram for the last 45 years. Over the years, Dale worked for Mooney Aircraft, Kerrville firefighter, owner of Guadalupe Signs and was an owner of a crematorium in West Kerr County. He was a member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Kerrville.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Lefty and Francis Haynes; and his son, Thomas Leland Haynes.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Pamela Dove Peays Haynes; son, Jeremy Dale Haynes and wife Jennifer; grandchildren, Jori Diann Jaxton Dale, Judson Dean and Joney Dove; daughter in law, Jessica Haynes; grandchildren, Alyson Hope and Grant Porter Haynes. Dale will be loved and missed by many other family members and friends.
