Lottie Rachel (Meeks) Hubbs

Lottie Rachel Hubbs of Kerrville, Texas, formerly of Edinburg, Texas, passed away on Thursday, November 4, 2021 at the age of 91.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Hubbs; daughter, Beth Hubbs; parents; and siblings, Woodrow “Woody” Meeks, Ariel (Meeks) Drewry, Preston Meeks, and Carey Meeks. Rachel is survived by her sons, David Hubbs of Port Isabel, Duane Hubbs of Ingram, and Neal Hubbs and life partner Mary Linsey of Hallettsville; daughter, Diane Knowles and husband Brad of Fredericksburg; five grandchildren, Brandon Hubbs, Andrew Hubbs, Tess (Knowles) O’Neil, Shae (Knowles) Griffing, and Chad Knowles; and eight great-grandchildren: Taylor, Rylan, Brooklyn, Chase, Nathan, Liam, Perrin, and Imogen.

Rachel, the youngest of five, was born in Jacksonville, Alabama on October 15, 1930 to Franklin and Fannie (Bone) Meeks. On April 25, 1948, she married Gerald Hubbs, a mechanic, in Edinburg, where they welcomed five children.

Rachel was a devoted mother and avid gardener. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, and spending time outdoors. Rachel will be remembered as kind-hearted, giving, and sweet to a fault. She never had an ill word for anyone, and always saw the best in everyone.
