Louie Elokadio Reyes

Elokadio “Louie” Reyes, 67, passed away peacefully at home on the morning of January 15, 2026.

He was born on November 8, 1958, in Olton, Texas, to Wenceslada Ybarra and Natividad Reyes Jr. Louie lived in Kerrville for the past 50 years, where he worked in construction and was also employed at Kerrville State Hospital and the VA Hospital.

Louie married the love of his life, Maria, on September 8, 1984, in Kerrville. She was his dance partner for life, and together they loved attending dances around Kerrville. Louie had a deep love for music and dancing.

Louie found joy in the good food, good music, and good company. He loved cooking for his family, especially firing up the pit for BBQ and making his famous pancakes for the grandkids. 

In his free time, Louie loved watching sports, especially wrestling, football, and basketball. He was a jokester who loved to make others laugh. Most of all, Louie cherished spending time with his wife and taking care of his grandchildren. , Louie lived for the moments that brought his family together.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Oscar Ortiz, Ruben Reyes, Natividad Reyes III, and Raul Reyes; and his granddaughters, Savannah Reyes and Camila Villa.

Louie is survived by his loving wife, Maria; his five children, Natalie Reyes and ex-husband Fabian, Crystal Diaz and husband Jorge Espinoza Jr., Veronica Reyes and good friend Donicio Zamora, Jeremy Reyes, and Fernando Reyes; 34 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Frances Garces, Blanca Reyes, Irma Chavez, Lydia Carrasco, Ofelia Kaivo, Florinda Casarez, and Sally Salazar.
