Lucilla Embrey

Lucilla “Lucy” Lopez Embrey, 75, passed away peacefully on November 03, 2023, surrounded by her children. Lucy was born in Pharr and grew up in the Rio Grande Valley. She enjoyed cooking and collecting cookbooks and recipes. She also loved to travel. Lucilla will always be dearly missed and always remembered.  

She was preceded by her father, Juan Q. Lopez and mother, Victoria Palacios Lopez; her brother, Xavier Lopez; ex-husband, Ignacio Valdez; and her beloved husband, Robert Embrey.

Lucilla is survived by her children, Elizabeth, Sandra, Danny, and Maricela “Mari” Valdez; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by many other dear loved ones; siblings, nieces, nephews, and cousin, who will remember her fondly.
