Margaret B. (Boden) Kleis

Margaret “Peggy” Kleis, age 94, passed from this life to the presence of Jesus March 28, 2020. She lived most of her life in Fort Myers, FL. She came to Kerrville to be cared for by her daughter Leanne and son-in-law Don Bell. Peggy was born in Philipsburg, PA to Leo and Mabel Boden.

She worked all her adult life in the retail world. Her last full time position was with Macy’s Department Store in Fort Myers. She had many friends there who have been in touch with her, since they found out where she was living. Janet Sushil, a dear friend, kept in touch with her through phone calls and cards over the years.

She is survived by her children, Leanne and husband Don Bell, Bill Kleis of Fort Myers, Karen Kleis and husband Rob Elwood of Newberry, FL; grandchildren, Keith and wife Nicole Bell, Kellie Bell, Heather and husband Philip Gesner; great grandchildren, Kollin and wife Lauren Bell, Konner Bell, Koleman Bell, Kaitlyn Gesner and Olivia Gesner.

She leaves behind many Florida friends and new Kerrville friends and who will miss her great sense of humor.

Peggy’s final 7 months on this earth were under the care of Peterson Hospice. Words can hardly express her family’s gratitude for the compassion and tender care she received from all
of the staff and volunteers associated with Peterson Hospice. Special thanks to Julie Kibbett, RN and Andy Taylor, M. Div for all the months of ministering to Peggy. The Dietert Center was a
big part of Peggy’s life here and many thanks to the folks at the “Take Five Program” for enriching Peggy’s life over the past two years. Lastly the family would like to honor and thank
Phiona Mayanja at the Rock Creek House for her devotion and loving care for our mom during the last three months of her journey on earth.
